Limit the Use of My Sensitive Personal Information

California law gives you the right to limit how businesses use and disclose your Sensitive Personal Information. This page explains the very narrow set of sensitive information U Brands collects, what we already do to protect it, and how to ask us to limit it further.

The Only Sensitive Information We Collect

U Brands collects Sensitive Personal Information in one place only: U Teach educator verification. To confirm you qualify for educator pricing, we ask you to show proof of your teaching role, which may include:

  • A school-issued or employer-issued ID
  • A teaching certificate or license
  • An employment verification letter

These documents reveal professional or employment status, which California classifies as sensitive. If you have never applied for U Teach, we hold no Sensitive Personal Information about you.

What We Already Do, Without You Asking

We apply the strictest handling by default, so most of what this right protects is already in place:

  • We use these documents only to verify educator eligibility, never for advertising, profiling, or inferring characteristics about you
  • We do not sell Sensitive Personal Information
  • We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising
  • Only authorized U Brands staff review it
  • We delete it within 1 to 3 business days of review, and no later than 30 days

Under California law, using sensitive information solely to verify eligibility for a benefit you requested is a permitted use that the limitation right does not restrict. We are telling you plainly so you know what a request can and cannot change.

How to Submit a Limitation Request

You can still ask us to limit or delete what we hold. Use either method:

  • Email: support@u-brands.com with "Limit Sensitive Information" in the subject line
  • Phone: 1-833-795-8442

Include the email address you used for your U Teach application so we can locate your record.

What Happens Next

  • We'll process your request within 15 business days.
  • If your verification document is still in our possession, we'll delete it immediately on request.
  • If you ask us to limit use before your verification is complete, we may not be able to approve educator pricing, since the document is the only way we can confirm eligibility. We'll tell you if that's the case so you can decide.
  • Your existing U Teach status and any orders already placed are not affected.
  • We will never charge you or treat you differently for making a request.
