Participation in the Program constitutes acknowledgment and acceptance of this Policy.

1. Program Purpose

The U Teach Program was developed for teachers, by teachers, to provide exclusive savings on U Brands products and to foster a supportive educator community. To maintain the integrity of the Program and prevent misuse of educator-exclusive benefits, verification of educator status is required.

2. Information Collected for Verification

To determine eligibility, we ask applicants to submit ONE of the following:

  • A school-issued identification card, OR
  • A teaching certificate or license, OR
  • Official documentation verifying employment at an educational institution

We ask applicants to redact non-essential personal identifiers (ID numbers, dates of birth, addresses) before submission. We do not request Social Security numbers, financial information, or other highly sensitive personal data.

3. Purpose Limitation

Documentation submitted for verification is collected and processed solely for the following purposes:

  • Confirming eligibility for participation in the Program
  • Preventing fraud, abuse, or misrepresentation
  • Maintaining program integrity

Verification documentation will not be used for advertising, profiling, resale, or unrelated commercial purposes.

4. Transmission Security

All verification submissions are transmitted over secure HTTPS connections utilizing SSL/TLS encryption protocols. This encryption protects information during transmission between the user’s device and the Company’s website from unauthorized interception.

5. Sensitive Personal Information

Verification documents may contain Sensitive Personal Information (“SPI”) under California law, such as government-issued identification numbers. We do not use SPI to infer characteristics about applicants, for profiling, or for any purpose beyond eligibility verification. California residents have the right to limit the use and disclosure of their SPI. To exercise this right, visit our Limit the Use of My Sensitive Personal Information page or contact support@ubrands.com.

6. Storage & Infrastructure Security

Verification documentation is stored within secure hosting infrastructure provided by Shopify and/or approved third-party application partners used for form processing. Security safeguards include:

  • Encrypted storage environments
  • Role-based access restrictions
  • Administrative permission controls
  • Secure authentication measures

Access to verification documentation is limited strictly to authorized personnel with a legitimate business need related to eligibility review. The Company does not guarantee absolute security but implements commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect submitted information.

7. Access Controls & Confidentiality

Access to submitted documentation is restricted to authorized Company personnel responsible for reviewing and verifying eligibility. Personnel with access are subject to internal confidentiality obligations and access control protocols. Verification documentation will not be disclosed to third parties except where required by applicable law, in response to lawful governmental requests, or to service providers contractually obligated to maintain confidentiality and security standards.

8. Data Retention & Deletion

The Company adheres to principles of data minimization and limited retention. Verification documentation is typically reviewed and permanently deleted within one (1) to three (3) business days following eligibility determination. Under no circumstances will verification documentation be retained longer than thirty (30) days from submission. Following deletion, documentation is removed from active systems in accordance with internal data management practices.

9. Data Minimization Commitment

The Company collects only the documentation reasonably necessary to confirm educator eligibility. Applicants are encouraged to obscure or redact non-essential personal information prior to submission.

10. Program Eligibility & Discount Modifications

Participation in the U Teach Program is subject to review and approval at the Company’s sole discretion. The following conditions apply:

  • Discount percentages are subject to change at any time without prior notice.
  • Current discount rates, including promotional offers (e.g., 20% off), may be modified, increased, reduced, or discontinued at the Company’s discretion.
  • Eligibility requirements, program structure, and participation criteria may be updated, suspended, or terminated at any time.

The Company reserves the right to revoke Program access in cases of fraud, misuse, misrepresentation, or violation of Program terms.

11. No Guarantee of Continued Benefits

Enrollment in the Program does not create a contractual right to ongoing discounts or benefits. The Company makes no guarantee regarding the duration, availability, or amount of any discount.

12. California Privacy Rights

California residents have the following rights regarding personal information submitted to the U Teach Program:

  • Right to know what personal information we have collected
  • Right to access a copy of that information

13. Data Breach Notification

In the event of a data breach affecting verification documentation, we will notify affected individuals consistent with applicable California and federal law.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Company shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising out of or related to participation in the Program or submission of verification documentation. The Company implements commercially reasonable safeguards but does not warrant that security measures will be error-free or immune from all potential vulnerabilities.
